Ashwin’s finest performance at Wankhede came against England in December 2016. In the fourth Test of the series, he claimed a remarkable 12 wickets, leading India to an innings victory.

In the first innings, he took 6-112, dismantling England’s batting order and crucially dismissing Joe Root and Moeen Ali. Following India’s mammoth response of 631, Ashwin wreaked havoc in the second innings, taking 6-55. His ability to claim the last six wickets showcased his dominance, as England fell for just 195, sealing a comprehensive win for India.
